We had such a great experience with Silverwater Level 2 Electrical. Our quote was super reasonable and Karl’s work installing our down lights and fans was awesome and had a great final result. Everyone we worked with was really friendly and it really felt like an honest and fair company. Karl was also super lovely with our toddler and dog too! Thanks again!
Daniel led an excellent team to deliver an electrical upgrade to our apartment. Karl and Remy were professional, punctual and customer and outcome focused in performing works that were at times quite challenging. Silverwater Level 2 Electrical will be my ‘go to’ business for future electrical needs.
Silverwater Level 2 Electrical service was excellent from the initial call to book the job, through to advice as to when the electrician was due to arrive and the actual completion of the job. Daniel also gave us advice on other electrical issues we had at no extra charge. Highly recommended
The guys were really accommodating, did a professional job and were very polite. They took the time to go over everything that they had done and answer any questions.
I found it quite challenging to get an electrician to answer my calls or respond to text messages. How refreshing to find Silverwater Level 2 Electrical! Daniel was on time, extremely professional and so capable! I will only use these guys from now on. So impressed!
I originally had Daniel & team out to replace wired smoke alarm, install extra general power outlets & upgrade ceramic fuses. But ended up with the team doing all these plus upgrading the switchboard , replace ceiling fans to energy efficient ones & replacing cotton electrical cabling too. Across the 3 visits, the team were very friendly, professional & work seamlessly with the tasks. Overall, I’m extremely happy with the results & would highly recommend Silverwater Level 2 Electrical for your electrical needs. Thanks Daniel & team for a 5-star service!
Our Service Side 80A fuse which protects the Power Meter blew up in a spectacular manner (see photo) at 9pm on a Friday night, causing total blackout of our Home. We rang Silverwater Level 2 Electrical 24 Hours emergency number. We received immediate friendly support and within 30 minutes Daniel, a Level 2 certified Electrician, was at our Home replacing the 80A Service side Fuse, installing a Lightning Protector and ensuring all wiring was perfect! He was a true professional, providing safety advice, a 5 year Warranty and great value. I strongly recommend Silverwater Level 2 Electrical!
We lost our power overnight due to minor flooding, Nathan arrived promptly and gave us a detailed quote. Unfortunately our switchboard was non compliant, we had some safety issues, but a full day later we were back up and running. Daniel and Braydon worked really hard and efficiently all day, communicating what was happening and as more rain was expected, they even tarped our eave that was leaking. They left the premises neat and clean, even wiping down the walls. I highly recommend them.
Daniel, Chris, Braydon and the team have been fantastic to work with, great quality and very professional service. Ill be using them again on all future electrical work
It’s amazing how Daniel and Chris came to solve a complex problem and restored the power that my previous electrician was unable to figure it out. They provided prompt and outstanding service! Highly recommended it!

Daniel has done an absolute stellar job changing our switchboard and reenergising our shop after the explosive fire next door and really put in the hard yakka over two full days. He was prompt to reply and professional and very much on-time. I highly recommend Daniel and his team, and will be using them in future.

Still have questions about electrical defect notices in Silverwater? Check out these FAQs or reach out to our team for expert guidance. We're here to help you understand and resolve your electrical defect notice efficiently and safely.
An electrical defect notice is issued by your network provider, typically Ausgrid in the Silverwater area, when they identify unsafe or non-compliant electrical installations connected to their distribution network. These notices outline specific issues that must be rectified within a given timeframe to maintain safe electrical connection to your property. Defect notices can relate to various aspects of your electrical infrastructure, including overhead or underground service lines, consumer mains, switchboards, metering equipment, private poles, or earthing systems. The notice will detail which electrical components are defective and why they fail to meet current safety standards or Australian Standards requirements. Failing to address these defects can result in disconnection of your power supply, as the network provider has both the authority and responsibility to ensure all connections to their network are safe and compliant.
Timeframes vary depending on the severity of the defect and the issuing authority. Critical safety defects that pose immediate danger may require urgent attention, sometimes within a matter of days, while less urgent issues might allow several weeks for rectification. The specific deadline will be clearly stated on your defect notice documentation from Ausgrid. We recommend acting promptly regardless of the timeframe provided, as delays can create unnecessary stress and may result in power disconnection if the deadline is missed. Some defects relating to dangerous conditions may not provide extended timeframes, making immediate action crucial. Our team at Silverwater Level 2 Electrical can help you understand your specific timeline requirements and work within those constraints to ensure compliant rectification before the deadline expires, preventing any disruption to your electrical supply.
Ignoring an electrical defect notice can have serious consequences for both safety and continuity of supply. The network provider has the legal authority to disconnect your power supply if defects aren't addressed within the specified timeframe, which can cause significant disruption to households or business operations. Additionally, unresolved electrical defects pose substantial safety risks including fire hazards, electric shock risks to occupants or maintenance personnel, and potential damage to electrical appliances and equipment. Insurance coverage may also be compromised if a claim arises from an electrical incident related to an unresolved defect, as insurers may view failure to address a known compliance issue as negligence. For commercial and industrial properties in Silverwater, power disconnection can result in lost productivity, spoiled inventory, and business interruption. Beyond these practical concerns, property owners have a legal obligation to maintain safe electrical installations, and failing to rectify defects can result in liability issues if someone is injured as a result of the non-compliant installation.
Electrical defect notices typically involve work on or near the network connection point, which requires a licenced Level 2 electrician, also known as an Accredited Service Provider or ASP. Silverwater Level 2 Electrical has the proper certifications and network authorisations to legally perform this specialised work throughout Silverwater and surrounding areas. General electricians without Level 2 accreditation cannot complete many of the tasks required for defect notice resolution, as these involve working on the network side of the connection or on infrastructure that forms part of the service connection. Level 2 electricians have undergone additional training and assessment, hold specific authorisations from Ausgrid, and are qualified to work on consumer mains, service lines, metering equipment, and private poles. They're also authorised to issue Certificates of Compliance and submit the necessary documentation to Ausgrid for inspection clearance. Using an unauthorised electrician to attempt defect rectification work can result in rejection of the work, additional defect notices, fines, and continued non-compliance with your original notice requirements.
In Silverwater, common defect notice issues include deteriorated service cables on older industrial and commercial buildings, outdated service fuses and switchgear in properties that haven't been upgraded, non-compliant metering arrangements that don't meet current Ausgrid standards, and inadequate consumer mains capacity for modern electrical loads. The area's concentration of warehouses, light industrial facilities, and commercial properties often presents unique compliance challenges. Many properties have undergone modifications or expansions over the years without corresponding upgrades to their electrical service infrastructure, leading to undersized consumer mains or non-compliant connections. Overhead service lines may develop clearance issues as vegetation grows or structures are modified, while underground services can suffer from deterioration, improper installation depth, or damage from ground works. Private poles serving multiple tenancies or larger facilities may develop structural issues, rotting at ground level, or inadequate earthing. The industrial nature of many Silverwater properties also means higher electrical loads, which can expose previously adequate but now undersized service infrastructure. Our team has extensive experience with the specific defect types common to commercial and industrial properties throughout the Inner West and can efficiently address these compliance issues.
Whether you’re facing a supply-side electrical emergency, have received a defect notice, or are planning property development requiring new network connections, our accredited Level 2 electricians are here to help.
